Barcelona came to Anfield with a healthy 3-0 lead after their first-leg win at their home but Jurgen Klopp’s men managed to pull off a miraculous comeback despite missing Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino due to injuries.
Meanwhile, Wijnaldum did not start the match at Anfield but an injury to Robertson propelled Klopp to use the Dutch superstar. Wijnaldum made an immediate impact, scoring two goals within a span of minutes to level the tie on aggregate. It goes without saying that the player played a pivotal role in Liverpool’s epic comeback against the Catalan giants.
The Reds are enjoying a superb campaign so far. They are just a point behind leaders Manchester City in the Premier League and qualified for the Champions League finals for two years in a row.
