Taylor, now with the Giants, is seeking at least $5 million in damages against David S. Gazzaniga and his clinic, Newport Orthopedic Institute, after the former punctured his lung in 2020 while treating a rib injury. Per ESPN, the injury occurred Sept. 20, 2020, when Gazzaniga attempted to inject a painkiller to Taylor’s fractured ribs. It was originally filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court in May 2021.
