Gazzaniga and his clinic, Newport Orthopedic Institute, after the former punctured his lung in 2020 while treating a rib injury. Per ESPN, the injury occurred Sept. 20, 2020, when Gazzaniga attempted to inject a painkiller to Taylor’s fractured ribs. It was originally filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court in May 2021. Taylor in the lawsuit claimed to have experienced “severe physical pain resulting in hospitalization, physical therapy, emotional distress and other past pain and suffering....
